Part 2 of 3 series
From my previous article on Chinese New Year Preparation – 1 https://syncdecors.com/chinese-new-year-preparation-1, I stated in that article what are my preparations one month before the Chinese New year. The heavy preparation is thorough cleaning of the house to take away bad energy while opening up a new space to flow in good energy or vital chi anew. But before continuing with the part 2 of this series, let me take you back to ancient China.
Did you know that the Chinese New Year is also called the Spring Festival? During spring time, the plants and flowers are starting to sprout and grow. It signifies a new beginning, a new hope, and/or a new life. The government of China instituted this Spring Festival or Chinese New Year with a 15-day long holiday season to give ample time for the people to travel home and celebrate with the family.
Now let us continue with my preparation,
Pre-Chinese New Year
1 week before
As the festivities is getting nearer, so what shall happen here? I am kind of so very busy, doing final listing of everything needed and hopping to malls and stores for shopping.
Invitation
Send out invitations to families and friends. Included in the card invitation is the information on what attire color-theme to wear. The color-theme is pick based on the lucky color of the year.
Shopping
What are on my shopping lists? These are the following Chinese new year must have that I always shop:
Dress to wear on color-theme, Feng Shui annual cures and enhancers, decors, red envelopes, balloons, aromatherapy oil, linens, etc. I don’t shop anymore for firecrackers because it is prohibited in our country, but we can do some flutes, trumpets, horns or clang any kitchen utensils for merry making purposes.
Change linens and laundry
Of course all linens are regularly changed, But I do change also when Chinese new year comes. But I am not merely changing curtains, bed sheets, beddings, pillow cases, table cloth, carpet, etc. but I make sure that the color and design fits to the Annual Star area that shall serve as an enhancer and/or cure.
Then I see to it that all used linens, curtains, etc. must be washed before Chinese new year comes.
Placement of annual cures and enhancers
Since the sectors of the house that need cures and enhancer were already pointed out, placement of the objects can be easily done. I make it sure that it is properly placed according to the guidelines on the Annual Star Feng Shui Forecast .
What is Annual Star Feng Shui Forecast?
On a layman’s explanation – every year the star or energy moves to its specific pattern and stays at the different areas of the house. They are all 9 stars, 5 of them are good energy, while 4 are bad energy. Knowing where the good and the bad stars stay at the sector of the house, I know easily how to treat them to lessen the impact of the bad energy and enhance the good energy.
Hey! why do I care so? It is very important to me, especially when the income sector of the house is affected, yes you can still earn but it takes a lot of effort to generate income or money. In my case, I treat all the 9 sectors of the house, as well as my office, to get the full benefit.

Refrigerator clean up
When cleaning for the refrigerator unit, I check all label of food, then dispose the expiring food that is no longer needed by new year. The inside and outside of the refrigerator must be thoroughly cleaned, as well as the top must be de-cluttered.
Menu planning and grocery
I start planning for food on what to cook 2 days before, I never missed on the menu; Biko (a sticky rice with sweet caramel on top), pancit or pasta, steamed fish, patatim (tendered pork knuckle in sauce with carrots, mushrooms and broccoli), beef korean short ribs, chicken barbecue, chop suey veggies, assorted fruits, and a colorful salad. Based on that menu, I can list down what ingredients needed to buy at groceries, oh! before I forget, I need a wine for toasting too, cheers!
I know you’re a bit hungry by now, lol. But we are not on the day of the celebration yet.
Please catch up the part 3 of the series of Chinese New Year preparation.

Keep safe!
I’ve learned some important things through your post.
I’d personally also like to convey that there may be situation where you will have a loan and don’t need a co-signer such as a Government Student Support Loan. But if you are getting that loan through a regular loan service then you need to be prepared to have a co-signer ready to allow you to. The lenders can base their own decision on the few components but the most significant will be your credit rating. There are some loan providers that will in addition look at your job history and decide based on this but in many cases it will hinge on your report.
Yes, beginning of the year, is great to start a new business too, while loan is a big help to venture a new business, of course after doing the thorough feasibility study of a certain business to embark.
